Jun. 19th, 2013 07:04 pmName: Sasuke Uchiha
Series: Naruto Shippuden
Gender: Male
Time Period: Chapter 635
Personality:
Sasuke is one who follows his path, and only his. Once he sets his mind upon a goal, he will go through any obstacle -moral or physical- that would find itself against him. The whole world could disagree about his path that he would still follow it unflinchingly.
Able to remain calm and collected in the most hair-rising situations enables him to quickly think of a way out of any mess he may find himself in should there be any battles to be waged. He has also shown much creativity when he was seemingly about to meet his end, and has a remarkable ability to adapt to new environments or circumstances.
More In-depth:
At the age of 8, after not only arriving from the academy to be welcomed by a deserted and silent Uchiha compound, Sasuke ran home to find out his mother and father murdered in cold blood by no one else than his older brother. Being shown how his kind older brother did indeed do this only left him with one question: why?
The answer? To measure his capacity. His brother had murdered everyone only for this end. Why not him, then? He was told he would let him live because he was too weak.
And so, with his next words came Sasuke's first goal.
Hate him. Hate him so that when they next meet, he would be able to kill him.
Sasuke would only remember this years later, but on this night as he went after his brother, he had awakened his sharingan... although he was made to forget about it until he would re-awaken it as genin.
Years passed with Sasuke now a cold pre-teen shouldering his burden, having trained to achieve what everyone saw as genius. He was already beyond his age as far as battle skills went, able to trick a foe into an incoming attack, something the Team's Sensei, Kakashi, had noted firsthand even though anyone at a Jonin's level would see through this.
Thanks to Orochimaru's cursed seal, Sasuke's lust for power reached new heights. The seal had to be contained, however, since it was highly unpredictable and could end up taking his life. Within the month between the preliminaries and third chuunin exam, Kakashi taught Sasuke the Chidori, a powerful technique that would be one he would learn alter to mold into his own. For now, however, Sasuke's lust for power was infinite, and limiting the Chidori to two times a day because there would 'might be a third' if he forced it heavily displeased him.
With Team 7, as they went through many battles and their own hardships, his skills grew, but something else started to emerge. At the battle with a half-beast Gaara, he vowed to himself that he would not let any precious people's lives be taken before his eyes, ready to stop Gaara so Naruto could escape with Sakura.
Witnessing Naruto's power, so far beyond his, however, may be just what triggered his decision to leave and seek out Orochimaru.
Power was nothing Konoha could offer him, and as he left wit the Sound Four, he was given the second state of his cursed seal, which he used to go against Naruto at the Valley of the End.
His path, however, was clear to him. Despite having to kill your best friend -as he knew his brother did to Shisui- to obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan, as he had read at the shrine, Sasuke had won, and despite being weakened, he could have taken Naruto's life.
However, he did not. He was not going to do as Itachi wished. A proof that he had his own path and was no pawn.
And so, for years he trained under Orochimaru, his teacher being the one that stopped Sasuke from most likely annihilating -or at the very least severely incapacitating- this replacement team seven. The snake sannin had uses for them, so he let things be.
As time passed, however, increasingly aware that his teacher was now weaker than he was, Sasuke decided that giving his body was not the right way to get revenge, so after killing Orochimaru, he formed his own team, Hebi, made of members he had picked since a while: Suigetsu, Karin and Juugo.
Hebi's goal was to go after Itachi, and they achieved so, after Sasuke disposed of Deidara. He faced Itachi alone, at one of the Uchiha's scattered temples, and there he demonstrated impeccable use of his throwing weapons arsenal, even able to counter his brother's genjutsu. In this battle, he even made use of his fire element to not harm his brother directly, but to summon thunderclouds and, with their help, perform Kirin.
Even after such a display, however, his brother advanced... this time using the mangekyou's full power, his Susan'oo... Just as Itachi was about to be victorious, however, just as he was reaching out for his brother's eyes...
He poked him in the forehead, said 'Sorry Sasuke, this is the last time..." and smiled... before slumping to the ground, dead. A few seconds after, Sasuke passed out from exhaustion, shock and a whole myriad of things mashed together.
He awoke to find himself with Tobi, who made him listen to Itachi's reasons for doing what he did.
Briefly, Sasuke's world was plunged into chaos again. He had achieved his revenge, had killed that traitorous brother, and yet.. Itachi was innocent!?
As things were, he had only been a pawn, used by the village to buy them peace... in blood... and still, he had let his little brother live. Let Sasuke live... so he could be the one to kill him.
From then on, Sasuke had a new goal. Kill the elders and bring destruction to Konoha, who had unjustly gained peace by sacrificing his brother and his clan. He did succeed in eliminating Danzo at the kage Summit, and gaining the wrath of the combined kages was hardly a price he cared to pay. Danzo had died by his hand.
He had also almost killed Karin, but this hardly was anything he cared for, since after Sakura found him and asked to join him, he casually asked her to prove her loyalty by ending Karin's life.
He undoubtedly knew Sakura had no intention of going through with her word, and was about to end her life swiftly when Naruto appeared on the scene, along with Kakashi, and the two fought, Sasuke mocking Naruto's words. No one could possibly understand him, and there was no way he -would- let anyone shoulder his hate.
His entire clan had been killed by Konoha. He was an avenger, walking a dark path. His anger, his hatred was his, and its target was well-deserved.
After the battle, Tobi took him away, and he soon after asked for Itachi's eyes, to obtain the eternal magekyou sharingan and crush Naruto with his full powers. Once this was done and he had recovered, he got up to leave, intent on following his own path.
Zetsu tried to stop him... Trued. Suffice it to say, against the eternal mangekyou sharingan, he did not succeed. Tobi had plans, but Sasuke would have none of it.
As he raced away to find Naruto, however, he caught sight of Itachi, brought back by the Edo Tensei. he followed him, asking him why, trying to get him to talk since he knew the truth, but Itachi had other things on his agenda.
The two were to face Kabuto, the one responsible for the Edo Tensei. The battle was one that would be test on all parties involved. Itachi and Sasuke did brilliantly against the strongest of opponents, and Itachi finally trapped him in a genjutsu.
After finally giving Sasuke the explanation he deserved, Itachi told him that he did not have to forgive him, and that from this moment onwards, his big brother would love him, no matter what he chose.
This brought Sasuke to question just what a shinobi truly was, and what this village was. What was it that Itachi wanted to protect, so much that he would go to such an extent?
Reviving Orochimaru was something he did without hesitation after getting together with Suigetsu and Juugo again. From then on, they went to Konoha, and Sasuke pulled out the Zetsus within him, that he knew he had all along, to revive the four Hokages.
Listening to the story of how the village was founded, as told by Hashirama, and thinking upon everything his brother said, he made his decision.
In order to not let what his brother wished to protect die in vain, they were to head to the battlefield and lend their strength in the war. While he and Juugo went to the front along with the Hokages, he sent Orochimaru, Karin and Suigetsu to the area of the battlefield where the current Kage were.
